Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how Pako Plant Care works when you scan plants, save plant records, and use subscription or analytics features.
Overview
Pako Plant Care is a plant identification and plant care app. You can use it to scan plants, view care guidance, track plant records, and manage an optional paid subscription. We do not require you to create an account to use the app.
We use a combination of local device storage, Apple services, RevenueCat, PostHog, Meta/Facebook SDK, TikTok Business SDK, and a plant identification provider accessed through our secure proxy. We do not request App Tracking Transparency permission, we do not access IDFA, and we do not enable advertiser ID collection.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect or process:
- Plant photos you choose to scan or save.
- Plant names, species, care notes, diagnosis history, and reminder data.
- Anonymous app identifiers stored on your device.
- App usage data such as screen views, taps, scan events, paywall interactions, and feature usage.
- Diagnostics and performance data such as crashes, errors, and latency information.
- Subscription and purchase status, including entitlement state and restore results.
- Device and app metadata such as device model, operating system version, app version, build number, language, and region.
Camera and Photo Access
The app may request camera access so you can take plant photos for identification or health checks. The app may request photo library access so you can select an existing plant photo for identification or diagnosis. If you choose to save a plant snapshot, the app may also request permission to add the image to your photo library.
These permissions are used only for the plant scanning and saving features described in the app.
Plant Images and Identification
When you scan a plant, the app prepares the selected image and sends it to our secure scan proxy, which forwards the request to a plant identification provider to return identification or health results.
We do not intentionally store uploaded scan image bytes on our servers. If you save a plant snapshot inside the app, the image is stored on your device as part of your plant record. Diagnosis history and care records may also be stored locally on your device.
Scan results and plant records may be linked to the anonymous app identifier used by the app and by RevenueCat.
No Account Required
Pako Plant Care does not require a user account for normal app use. Subscription and purchase features are handled through Apple and RevenueCat, not through a separate app account.
Information Stored Locally
Much of your app content is stored locally on your device, including plant profiles, care notes, reminders, history, cached assets, and some analytics preferences. Local files remain on the device until you delete them, clear the app, or uninstall the app.
Temporary cache files can be cleared from the app settings. Some local data may be included in device backups if backups are enabled on your device.
Analytics and App Usage Data
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used and to improve product quality. This may include anonymous app identifiers, app version, device type, operating system version, screen views, button taps, scan events, paywall interactions, onboarding events, subscription lifecycle events, and diagnostic metadata.
PostHog and our internal analytics layer use an anonymous app-generated identifier that is stored on the device. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts for analytics.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Subscription purchases are processed through Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat. We may receive purchase, restore, entitlement, and trial status information so the app can unlock premium features and keep subscription state in sync.
We do not send purchase, trial, subscription, or revenue events through Meta/Facebook SDK or TikTok Business SDK.
Advertising Measurement
We use Meta/Facebook SDK and TikTok Business SDK for limited app-level advertising measurement or technical verification. We do not request ATT permission, we do not access IDFA, and we do not enable advertiser ID collection.
We do not intentionally use those SDKs to send purchase or revenue events. Any SDK telemetry is limited to app-level measurement and verification signals.
Third-Party Services
The app may use the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit for purchases and subscriptions.
- RevenueCat for subscription status, offerings, entitlements, and restore support.
- PostHog for product analytics and event measurement.
- Meta/Facebook SDK for limited app-level measurement and launch verification.
- TikTok Business SDK for limited app-level measurement and launch verification.
- Plant.id, accessed through our secure proxy, for plant identification and health checks.
- Cloudflare Workers and related proxy infrastructure for request authentication and forwarding.
How We Use Information
- Identify plants and provide care or health guidance.
- Save and show plant records, reminders, and history.
- Process subscriptions, trials, restore requests, and entitlement state.
- Measure app usage and improve reliability, performance, and product quality.
- Protect the app and prevent abuse or unauthorized use.
Data Sharing
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the app, process subscriptions, or deliver plant identification and analytics features. This may include Apple, RevenueCat, PostHog, Meta/Facebook SDK, TikTok Business SDK, Cloudflare, and the plant identification provider.
We do not sell personal data.
Data Retention
Local plant records, reminders, and saved photos remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app, or uninstall it. Analytics, operational logs, and third-party service data are retained for the time needed to provide the service, maintain security, and meet operational or legal obligations.
Children’s Privacy
Pako Plant Care is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your Choices and Rights
- You can revoke camera, photo, or notification permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can clear temporary cache files from the app settings.

If you want to manage a subscription, use Apple Account subscription settings or the in-app restore/manage flow.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including secure transport, request authentication, App Attest, file protection, and limited access to operational data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect information against unauthorized access and misuse.
International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries outside your own by us and by the third-party services listed above. Those providers may use their own lawful transfer mechanisms and safeguards.
